By Anton Chekhov

2015
La Corista (The Chorus Girl) is an adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s tale, and tells the story of Pasha, a chorus girl, that has been having an affair with a married man, Nikolay Kolpakov. One night, an unexpected visit interrupts Pasha's house, a mysterious visitor who soon reveals herself to be Nikolay's wife.
The Chorus Girl discusses themes such as adultery, identity, remorse, desperation, independence, trust, guilt and loneliness. The play reveals how a bourgeois marriage, that lives exclusively through appearances, is able to deceive and emotionally crush others - playing out the archetypal dichotomy between oppressed and oppressor.
