FEMINIST TRANSLATE

Date: Friday July 22
Time: 15.00 – 17.30
Location: Omnibus Common Room
Format: Workshop
FREE

We always translate from a specific time and place. This workshop asks what happens when the place we translate from is feminism. The workshop will be led by Out of the Wings theatre translators and researchers, Catherine Boyle and Sophie Stevens, and theatre practitioners Gaël Le Cornec and Fran Olivares. We will explore the translation of activist hashtags and of dramatic texts and practices that test the limits of translation. What are they? What role do different subjectivities and positions play in the translation of texts across time and space? We will explore texts in both Spanish and Portuguese.

About Latinx Scratch

SUN OCT 31 2021 AT 02:00 PM TO 08:00 PM

Omnibus Theatre | London

A MESSAGE FROM UNTOLD COLLECTIV:

Two years since the last Latinx Scratch we have returned! And we bring you some changes and surprises.

A day of new writing: five short plays by Latin American playwrights. Five teams who will put these stories onstage. Five opportunities to own our stories. All contained within the Omnibus Theatre which is a 5min walk from Clapham Common's station

This time there will be TWO SHOWS. Yes a matiné performance at 2:00 pm and an evening performance at 6:30pm.

After the evening performance we will have a traditional Day of the Dead ceremony to celebrate our loved ones who are no longer here.

You are very very encouraged to come in your Halloween costumes too. There is plenty of room for all traditions. ;)

We can’t wait to meet again!
